The Spices Board is the regulatory and export promotion body for Indian spices under the Indian government. Spices Board was constituted in 1987 under with the merger of the erstwhile Cardamom Board (1968) and Spices Export Promotion Council (1960). Spices Board (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India) is the flagship organization for the development and worldwide promotion of Indian spices. And have the responsibility of production/development of cardamom and export promotion of 52 spices shown in the schedule of the Act. The Spices Board Registration or Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices (CRES) is mandatory for all the manufacturers or merchant exporters who want to export spices in the world from India. Indian spices include a variety of spices like pepper, mint, Black or Brown Cardamom, turmeric, ginger, cumin, tamarind, oregano, coriander, curry leaf, mustered, saffron and having great demand all over the world.
    We know that having a certificate of registration with the Spice board is necessary for anyone who is dealing with export of spices. Also, the Spices Board Act, 1986 states that "No person shall, after the commencement of this Act, commence or carry on the business of export of any spice under and in accordance with a certificate. The validity of the certificate of Registration will be for 3 years from the date of registration. Any person who wishes to renew their Certificate as Exporter needs to submit an application in the Form-1 to the authority.
